How did JJ and Olivia discover Cabo
Back in early 2020, right when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, JJ and Olivia had flew to Cabo to visit for their first time. This was a place they’ve always wanted to visit, as they mention to Nick. They stayed in San Jose del Cabo, a beautiful fishing village in Cabo. But since this was right after COVID-19 began, everything was locked down. As being the case everywhere in the world at that time, JJ tells Nick that it was like a ghost town.
Although their first experience was a tough one in Cabo, they certainly did understand the situation. As such, they had returned again in January of 2021. That time, they brought two of their their three children with them. Almost immediately, JJ started asking Olivia if she wanted to live in Cabo.
Two months later, the two of them decided to buy a condo in Cabo after selling one of their properties in Northern California. Then, they sold another property in California allowing them to purchase another ;property in Cabo. In the video, JJ called that a two-for-two.
After watching Nick Fong’s PODCASTs for around two years, they finally decided to actually move to Cabo permanently. Olivia tells Nick that he brought them to Los Cabos, referring to all the PODCAST videos they watched. So finally, they moved to Cabo in August of 2022.
Where JJ and Olivia Huskey are from
To begin, Olivia mentions to Nick that she is from Yuba City just outside of Sacramento in Northern California. She tells Nick that she was born and raised in that small farming town, as she calls it. On the other hand, JJ is from Mariposa, California.
Speaking about their profession in California, the two of them were in real estate for eight years there. Olivia tells Nick that her mom was in real estate prior to that. In fact, her mom is the one who encouraged her to get into real estate in the first place. Now, she truly loves real estate.
Starting their real estate career in Los Cabos
Now that they’ve gone through the buying process on two properties in Cabo, the two of them had a great feel for closing real estate in Mexico. As such, they were able to combine their great real estate knowledge and experience with what they had learned about buying Mexican real estate. Today, they work for Ronival Real Estate and they live in one of the best places on Earth – Cabo.
