Diving in Cabo Pulmo
Start by planning a day trip to dive into the Cabo Pulmo reefs when you come from Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo or even La Ribera. Put the trip together yourself if you’re an experienced diver or plan with a dive company if you’re a first-timer!
The highest -recommended reef to explore is the islet, which is located south of the bay of Cabo Pulmo, which has a maximum depth of 60 feet. You’ll find yourself impressed by the intense colors of the marine life vividly moving around this promontory of the reef.
Among the rocks, check out the emerging hedgehog and blowfish. At the sandy bottom, buried rays are common too. Definitely, an experience you wouldn’t like to miss!
Kiteboarding in Los Barriles and much more
East Cape is truly a hidden gem in the Cabo region. It’s now becoming a popular place for big game anglers as this area started as a fishing community. Therefore, now big fishing tournaments take place offshore and bring many people looking for calm waters to enjoy. Besides fishing, you can also find the Cabo Pulmo sanctuary, which is a must-see for snorkelers and divers.
Famous for kiteboarding, few places along the Sea of Cortez are as rich in animal and plant life as Los Barriles in East Cape. To begin, one of the abundant species is the whale shark. This is a harmless fish the size of a whale – thus its name. And unlike its feared relatives, it only eats algae and tiny animals. Interestingly, its mouth measures up to one meter. And, it has no teeth as it filters its food through its gills – filter feeder.
The fleet of boats that are part of Los Barriles include yachts and fishing vessels that are fully equipped with experienced captains that will take you to the best places to catch great fish. Los Barriles is also de home of the Brown pelican, a marine bird that mainly eats sardines that are captured on the water’s surface. They eat well due to the wonderful density of its shoals.
Cerritos Beach surfing on the Pacific
Being such a popular surfing spot due to its magnificent waves, Cerritos Beach is also a place focused on tranquility, luxury, and beautiful natural surroundings. Situated only 40-miles north of Cabo San Lucas, there is a crescent-shaped stretch of white sand called Cerritos Beach. This beach along the beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline is just ten minutes south of Todos Santos. That means, there’s more than meets the eye.
