To explain, Daniel is a Jeweler Designer from Taxco, Mexico, the historic silver town south of Mexico City.

How Daniel Espinosa gained his experience
Having grown up in Taxco, Daniel Espinosa learned how to work with silver at a very young age. At that time, he had a great appreciation for beautiful items used by both men and women. Therefore, he decided to become a jeweler when he was just 17 years old. Being an entrepreneur at heart, he started his business at the same time as entering school to get his formal education. To train, he moved north to Mexico City to develop his new craft. He wanted to eventually become a designer.
Once he finished studying under many designers, Daniel decided to create something unique. As such, he wanted his jewelry to be different and distinct. To explain, he went to work designing the foundations for his original pieces that are now world famous. The most important thing he learned was how to create a brand. So after combining his unique style with his unique vision for success, he made it happen in a big way.
Taxco: The silver town in Mexico
Explaining in the PODCAST, Daniel Espinosa tells how the silver riches of Taxco were discovered by Hernan Cortez while conquering Mexico. With the intention of mining metals to manufacture guns, this small town provided something even better – silver and even some gold. So after telling the King of Spain about these new-found riches, his mission was altered. As such, silver and gold mines in the Taxco region provided many riches to Spain for centuries thereafter.
Prior to the arrival of the Spanish in Mexico, the indigenous community known as “Taxco” was not located where the modern city is today. The name referred to a village about ten kilometers to the south, which is now referred to as Taxco El Viejo (Old Taxco). In pre-Hispanic times, this village was the most important in the area as it was the seat of the Aztec governor who presided over tribute collection in the surrounding seven districts.
Taxco mining history
Before the Hispanic period, mining in Taxco began with natives extracting a number of stones for decorative and ritual purposes. Then the Spanish discovered silver lodes there around 1532. That is what started commercial silver mining in the region. As such, mining operations in the area during the early colonial period was carried out mostly by mining haciendas such as the Hacienda del Chorrillo and the Hacienda San Juan Bautista, established by Cortés or his knights.
Then, during the 1540’s, many artisans in Taxco started making religious items for the King of Spain. That was what made Taxco very wealthy indeed. And, that made the town a magnet for world-renowned craftsmen and artists.
