About Emma Nicholson and her experience with Ronival

Few places along the Sea of Cortez are as rich in marine and plant life as Los Barriles. One remarkable resident is the gentle whale shark—a filter-feeding giant that dines on algae and tiny organisms (no teeth!). Its mouth can measure up to one meter across as it filters food through its gills.
Los Barriles is also home to an active fleet of yachts and sport-fishing boats with experienced captains ready to take you to the best spots. You’ll often see brown pelicans diving for sardines, thanks to the area’s abundant bait fish.
As for the broader East Cape, it started as a fishing community and remains a hidden gem just north of Cabo. It’s now a magnet for big-game anglers and ocean lovers, with famous beaches, protected marine areas like Cabo Pulmo, and emerging luxury communities set against a dramatic desert-meets-sea landscape.
