Nick Fong and Dan Binetti’s background
At the beginning of the PODCAST, Nick and Dan reveal exactly how they first met and how long they both have lived in Baja Sur. When this video was recorded, Dan had lived in Baja Sur for 17 years and Nick has him beat by one year – 18 years in Los Cabos.
At the time they first met, both of them started in real estate with the same company: Caldwell Banker. Shortly after that, Nick had started his own brokerage. As a broker, Nick sold a house that Dan had listed, which is how they met the first time.
Originally from New Jersey, right across the Washington bridge from New York City, Dan Binetti had a great career there and other places around the United States. But, he loved Mexico and Baja California Sur and he loved fishing there, which Baja Sur is famous for. As such, once he his first opportunity to live there, he quit his job and moved to Todos Santos right away.
Dan quickly got into real estate after arriving in Todos Santos. Then, the rest was history. Being that Dan’s first love is fishing, as you’ll see in the video, he goes into good detail about his fishing experience and talent. But what’s amazing is the fact that he’s in what’s considered the fishing capital of the world. To explain, the biggest fishing tournament takes place there three times every year. Winning payouts head into the millions of dollars.
The magical town of Todos Santos
As a haven for music, art, and film festivals along with being a world-renowned desination for eco-tourism, like the ever-popular exotic bird watching, Todos Santos is a famous destination. In fact, this magical town is considered a ‘’Pueblo Magico’’. On top of that, its pristine virgin beaches, the great number of art galleries, and the countrified vibe of this place put it in one of the top places to visit in Mexico.
Todos Santos endured eras of both great wealth and famine after being established back in 1723 by Father Jaime Bravo. But now that the farm land there produces abundantly, and tourism is strong and growing, there’s been no greater time to come to Todos Santos.
Situated just north of Cabo San Lucas on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur, Todos Santos is quite a community. Besides of having the ideal climate to cultivate mango, coconut, and other exotic fruits, it’s also a place with a great taste for gastronomical arts. And having all kinds of gastronomic adventures with great places to eat, art exhibitions, sales of arts and crafts and even sporting events, this is a one of a kind historic town on its own.
