Learn about how the pandemic has affected Jason Oliver’s travel
Coming from Toronto, Canada, his home, Jason talks to Nick about how traveling has been affected by COVID-19. Canada has been strict about travel, so it’s been difficult. In fact, he shares how travel challenges have shaped his lifestyle since the start of the pandemic.
As he says in the video, he had one close call regarding travel. To explain, when he returned to Toronto from a hotel he owns in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, located in the southern Caribbean, he made the last flight before the airport closed. It’s still closed to this day!
Uncover how long Jason Oliver and Nick Fong have been acquainted
During the PODCAST, Nick asks Jason how long they’ve known each other. As it turns out, they’ve been friends for 14 years, as of the filming of this video. After many years had passed, Jason purchased a home in Cabo—at Las Ventanas. That’s when Jason officially became a client of Ronival Real Estate. And since Jason had been visiting Cabo regularly for 18 years, he already knew Puerto Los Cabos Real Estate and other iconic communities throughout the region.
Jason was staying in a vacation rental inside El Pedregal years ago. While there, he turned to Nick Fong for information about financing a house in Cabo. Though he wasn’t impressed with the interest rate back then, that was the start of their lasting friendship—14 years strong.
Nick asks: what keeps bringing Jason back to Cabo?
After Jason explains his travel struggles during the pandemic, Nick shifts to a happier topic—Cabo. He asks Jason what keeps bringing him back again and again, for 18 years now. Jason’s first answer is the weather—the weather in Cabo is simply awesome. Then, Jason tells Nick that he’s done a few shows in Cabo over the years.
Seven years ago, Jason Oliver did an MMA show right on the beach in Cabo. Nick clarifies by asking, “MMA as in fighting?” Jason laughs, explaining that he performed the half-time show at the event. That leads Nick to ask him about his music career, which unfolds in the next part of the conversation. Cabo’s creative scene and musical spirit often thrive in neighborhoods like Quivira Real Estate, where oceanfront living meets resort-style energy.
About Jason Oliver’s career in music
Jason Oliver was only 15 years old when he started recording and performing music. Before then, he started as a jazz and hip-hop dancer, also at the age of 15. As he reminisces about his past, he reveals how he met stars like Rosanne and Sinbad—really, really back in the day.
That was when he was very young and performing on the show “Just for Laughs.” There, he performed his first rap song. He was only 16 years old. From there, he went on to perform in some big venues and grow his career. In the video, Jason tells Nick that every time he performed, he gained another incredible opportunity.
