Colleen reveals her experience with Nick as she describes her background and kiteboarding history. Also, she details her exciting real estate career during her interview with Nick.
Colleen Carroll is quite extraordinary! Being both a professional kiteboarder and a real estate agent, she’s excited to tell Nick about her experiences and background. As she mentions to Nick Fong, Colleen Carroll says that although she resides in Hood River, Oregon, she also enjoys traveling. In the video, Nick asks her what it means to be a professional kiteboarder. Colleen replies by saying that over the last 10 years, she’s built quite a wonderful kiteboarding career with some great sponsors. To explain, she’s gained these amazing sponsors while traveling to many exotic destinations for kiteboarding competitions, video and photo shoots, and kiteboarding clinics and retreats as an instructor.
To go more into detail about Colleen Carroll as a kiteboarding teacher, she’s hosted many exciting kiteboarding clinics and women’s kiteboarding retreats. It’s great that she loves sharing her experience with others interested in this amazing sport. During her conversation with Nick, Colleen states how she’s put together a “pretty cool career” over the last decade.
Once the COVID-19 pandemic began, Colleen’s kiteboarding career completely paused. But the timing couldn’t be better. She was about ready to diversify. So after her competitions came to a halt due to Coronavirus, she chose a real estate career path to complement her kiteboarding career going forward.
Colleen Carroll’s story revealed
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest region of the USA, Colleen Carroll lived between the North Cascade mountain range and the Puget Sound. There, she was mentored by a family that had an affliction for outdoor adventure. As such, her love affair with the outdoors began when she was very young. She loved wakeboarding, mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing, windsurfing, and even climbing trees. Every free moment of her young life was spent exploring the gifts of the Northwest outdoors.
Colleen graduated early with a B.A. in Environmental Economics. But feeling uncertain about her career path, Colleen took a job managing a local kiteboard shop. And after a two-year introduction to the kiteboard industry, she was ready to travel to some of the best kiteboarding destinations the world has to offer.
After learning how to kiteboard, Colleen was hooked. Fortunately, epicenter of kiteboarding in the Pacific Northwest was just to the south from where she lived – Hood River, Oregon. Therefore, she moved there right away. After that, she realized that she needed to explore further, much further. So once fall came near, Colleen ventured off with her older brother to check out Brazil’s NE coastline. And with the help of her amazing sponsors, Colleen never stopped.
